Key note speech
We are delighted to officially launch LCEBA’s first E-event. An innovative platform to promote discussion and networking between businesses, teachers and Education Business Partnerships.
A 21st century virtual environment to support work related learning for young people - the workforce of tomorrow, the workforce of the 21st century.
As a company we recognise the importance of engaging with schools in order to bring the curriculum to life. At Deutsche Bank we encourage our staff to volunteer to enable them to build their own skills and at the same time enhance and enrich the experiences of students. Through this exciting platform I hope you can now explore opportunities for your school or business to get involved with developing skills of young people.
I applaud LCEBA in their refreshing approach to networking, which can engage even the busiest of teachers and business people – a 24/7 education business link!

Discussion topic: Beyond the photocopier!
Welcome to the launch of our first E-Event and the networking opportunities it will give you all. In the 24/7 culture we live in today, with information more accessible than ever before, we wanted to rise to the challenge and move education business links into the same environment in which business and young people operate.
This is LCEBA's 6th Annual Stakeholder event and I am pleased to present our plans for the forthcoming year. Our focus will be supporting the introduction of 14-19 Diplomas and delivery partners will be encouraged to seek innovative approaches to Work related learning. We will support all secondary schools in central London in a more strategic way to deliver statutory work related learning and enterprise curriculum and broker the links with businesses to meet the needs of the school and its students.
In a pan London context LCEBA will work collaboratively with other Education Business Link Consortia across the capital towards a more consistent approach.
We hope the discussion forum will maximise the business involvement in the learning process and develop the personal qualities in young people for a successful working life.
Next year we will be delivering pre-work experience placements, professional development for staff and work related learning activities as well as engaging employers for schools to support a range of curriculum areas.
To kick start some thoughts, how do you think we can ensure young people in central London have work experience that can give them a true insight into the world of work beyond the photocopier, raise their aspirations and inspire them into thinking about careers not just jobs.
With best wishes

Launch of LCEBA Education-Business Link Forum
The launch of the LCEBA Education-Business Link Forum enhances the work of The LCEBA Business Club in promoting communication and partnership between educators, employers and education business links organisations across central London.
By registering at the Forum, you will be able to take part in this evening's discussion which will focus on the key topic of Work Experience and how by working together employers and schools can ensure that students find their time in the workplace a stimulating and rewarding experience.
You will also be able to view some of the additional topics that the Forum will be addressing from Thursday 5th July onwards.
The Forum is a portal to finding the ideas, resources and people that can support your work in developing links between education and business. I hope you become a regular contributor and I look forward to receiving your suggestions and comments on how we might develop this initiative to increase the learning opportunities available to the young people of central London.
