Where am I?:   Home | Mentoring Service

Welcome to the LCEBA Mentoring Service

'Mentoring is a process by which an older more experienced person takes a younger person under his/her wing, freely offering advice, support and encouragement. The older person (the mentor) becomes among other things, a role model who inspires the younger person (the mentee).'

North London College

There are several ways to get involved in the LCEBA Mentoring Service

  • Face-to-face mentoring
  • E-mentoring
  • Combined programme
  • SMART-mentoring
  • Modern Foreign Language mentoring

All of these programmes support our aims to

  • raise student achievement
  • improve student motivation and self-esteem
  • raise awareness of and help students prepare for the world of work

'The scheme is helping to improve the children's work and behavioural skills. They have a guide who can give them revision tips, as well as listening and giving advice on other matters. The advice given to one business studies student made it possible for him to achieve a better grade in his exam'
Susanna Brand, Business Studies & ICT teacher, St.George's RC School, Westminster.
