We link mentors from businesses to secondary school students. For students it's a chance to talk things over with a supportive outsider - someone not in their family or school. Someone who can bring a different perspective. Who can be a role model. Who can encourage and inspire. Someone who will simply listen.
Being a mentor is a huge challenge with huge rewards. You'll meet or send emails regularly or perhaps a combination of both.
LCEBA also run an e-mentoring project where students can be linked with a business mentor via email communication.

As a mentor you'll get to know the student and set goals together. You'll use communication skills in a way you've never done before.
