Health sector links with schools
Capital Skills has supported a number of innovative projects across the health sector that aim to prepare employers, students and teachers for the new Society, Health and Development 14-19 Diploma, which is launched in September 2008.
Removing barriers to work experience
Nine employers were brought together with students and teachers to enhance their engagement with the SHD Diploma by removing barriers to work experience, bringing employers from various sectors together, making student work more vocational and providing teachers with workplace experience.
Interactive forums
This project aimed to create a web based forum where students access support for their studies and information on career opportunities.
Demonstrating healthcare roles to students
An event held during Science Week allowed health care professionals to demonstrate their roles to students. To support the event, a web site has been created where health care professionals answer students' questions.
