New 14-19 Diplomas

From 2008, 14-year-olds in England will be able to take a new specialist Diploma in Creative & Media.

The new qualification, designed to equip young people with the skills needed by employers, is one of a series of vocational diplomas that will be created over the next decade.

The government wants employers to play a key role in developing the curriculum for the new diploma, working through the skills councils

The Diploma in Creative & Media will include more opportunities to learn at work and outside of school. Students will continue to learn English and Maths as well as the more specialised content of their diploma.
